Saloon doors are a great accessory to any type of double doors. We used it to cover our sanctuary doors. In total there are two sets of doors, one on each side of the doors.
Supplies:
- White Paper
- Brown paint
- White paint
- Black paint
- Pencil
- Yardstick
- Scissors
- Tape
Step One
- Measure how wide and tall you want your saloon doors to be compared to the door you will be putting it on
- Roll out a strip of white paper and draw on your first door
- Roll out three more papers of the same length
- You will need four doors (which makes two sets) if you are doing both sides of the double doors
- Put them under the first paper
- Cut all four at once so you have the same size door
Step Two
- Mix brown paint with black paint to make a dark brown
- Paint the tops and bottoms of each door
Step Three
- Mix brown with white to make a light brown
- Paint the middle section of each door, and paint it with the light brown
Step FOur
- Paint black strips on the light brown portion
- Make them unevenly spaced
- They are supposed to represent the spaces between the panels of wood
Step Five
- With brown paint, paint in between the black lines
- Use a very dry brush
- Use very little paint
Step Six
- Tape up the doors and put them on the doors
